If there is a chance that you'll be able to score and swap out for some in better condition for ~ the same price, then you might buy these to do that.I would. A few months ago, I sold a pair of Forte that are in a lot better condition to a fellow forum member for only $80 more than the ones in the ad. If there's no way you're going to be replacing your next purchase and what you get are going to be in and area where you'll be showing them off, then you might hold out for ones in better condition. Last but not least - They are Forte and should sound wonderful They are far from what I would call beaters Most people price a little high than what they have to have and you might do a little better than the asking price It's not hard to find badges and the look fine without them One could find a something to place on the tops to hide the chew places (cloth, smoked glass, marble) I used them until I got some KLF30, then sold them for what I had in them - then had sellers remorse. They look better than my first Forte and are priced close to the same. I paid $350/pr for my kg4.2s in December 2017.The ones in the ad look to be worth the money, especially if he throws in the cables and if they're close to you. I honestly would prefer the kg4.2s because I view the addition of a subwoofer to my Heresies as increased complexity what with wiring and power etc., and I like simplicity. I was left with the Heresies and eventually bought a subwoofer to "fill them out". So I posted both on craigslist and vowed to keep the pair that didn't sell first. In fact, when I was first immersed in Klipsch speakers, I had the Heresies and bought the kg4.2s intending to keep only one pair. 3-way configuration but not enough disparage it. It does have a slightly different voicing because of 2-way vs. The kg 4.2, while much less expensive, plays lower and sounds damn good. I agree the Heresy is a great speaker but it needs a subwoofer. the mentioned pair for sale would be $625-$650 with shipping. both versions of KG are great speakers for the used market prices these sell for.įor the price difference of KG4.2 vs heresy1, i would much rather have 4.2s for probably close to half the price of heresy. 5s, the 4.2/5.2 has the exact same freq response as the 4.5/5.5, but the bigger 5.5 has dual 10" woofers vs a single 12 of the 5.2, the 5.5s are more efficient than the 5.2 also. 2s passive radiators dont really have any better bass extension than the ported. they drop like a rock below 50hz! nothing wrong with a good 2 way, some of the best klipsch models are 2 ways. heresy are nice but absolutely need a sub (if you want bass below ~50hz) for everything but maybe some low volume classical music.
