This has been ascribed to the difficultnature of unconstrained Bangla handwriting, includingthe diversity of character patterns, ambiguity andillegibility of characters and the overlapping nature ofhandwriting. And in thistrend character recognition plays an important role.Although printed Bangla character and numeralsrecognition is on its way to being solved, producingexcellent recognition rates, researchers concentrating onthe recognition of handwritten words cannot boast thesame success. So, scientists all over the world aretrying to computerize the Bangla language. Morethen 200 million people use Bangla as their medium ofcommunication. This matrix is then compared with aknowledge base where all recognized characters given byvarious persons are stored in superimposed form.Finally, depending on the similarity of the character withthe stored one, the system recognizes the character to usein the output. The characters are scaled to a standard sizeusing an image scaling algorithm and are stored in a32X32 matrix. Then the boundary of each character isdetermined.
In this system, the Banglatext, accepted as an image file, is first segmented intolines and words and then each word is segmented intocharacters.
It is observed that, in all cases, the samecharacter written by different individuals shows at least aminimum level of similarity. Khulna-9208, paper presents an off-line recognition system forBangla handwritten characters using superimposedmatrices.
